Hahaha I love the hula hoop

  2. Ashley in MD says:

Wait does this mean people that are hula hooping are crossing?

  3. Ned in NJ says:

    You know. For kids!

  4. Candice In Alabama says:

Norville Barnes? Is that an alias for Norman Bates (still thinking of that delapidated MOTEL sign).

    (I know…I know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hudsucker_Proxy)

  5. Kevin says:

Didn’t get the reference, guess I missed this one in high school. Seems like a horrible idea for a movie…

  6. MN Roxanne says:

Now there would be something to try… hula hooping on your walk…. cute decoration to a regular sign… I bet it makes folks do a double take…

  7. charlie says:

hudsucker proxy – hula hooping. good one! Norville came up with an invention he has been working on which appears to be a simple circle, a ‘hula’ hoop,

  8. Donna in Texas says:

So Matt was referring to the guy who invented the hula hoop. I was about to do a google search on the name. Thanks, Charlie.

  9. Jeff says:

Aloha Norville. Love modified street signs. Remember the deer with the red nose….Good one two.

  10. Good ol’Norville…

  11. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Okay, I don’t get it. Not at all. Somebody please explain it to me. Who is Norville Barnes or what is it?

The sign you just gotta laugh at though. I’d be looking for people hula-hooping to cross by!

  12. Don in Tennessee says:

Did the authorities make you jump through a bunch of hoops to continue your trek? Sometimes people make you go around circles to get to where you need or want to go.

  13. Maus says:

Your reference brought a HUGE smile to my face.

  14. Brittney says:

Oh so the hula hoop is a sticker? I remember the picture a while back, I liked it better when I thought someone had drawn it :P much more creative. Although its neat to see it elsewhere

  15. deb says:

I wonder where the Frisbee players are supposed to cross the road?

  16. JS says:

The hula hoop in reference to the band The String Cheese Incident. People aka Kids who listen to SCI get those stickers and put them on those signs. They have a large hula hoopin following.

  17. Alligirl says:

JS is right. These are definitely Cheese kids playing with a pedestrian sign. http://www.hooping.org/archives/000214.html

  18. katzien in austin says:

How funny! I love learning new oddities like this. ;-)

  19. Michael Pack says:

These signs will be common place in Las Vegas before too long. City officials are trying to ban the use of hula hoops on the strip. http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/las-vegas-gets-wound-up-as-it-considers-hula-hoop-ban/19584057
