Quite a precipitous boat launch
August 24th, 2010
I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Boat launch to hell!
Probably not something you would back your truck and boat trailer down. However, winching the trailer down this ramp probably isn’t such a bad deal. I can imagine the fish that were caught!
Dang! Looks like it’s not used much anymore. And for good reason. Yikes!
Abandoned flume ride? The carnival had to shut down as it killed/maimed all thrill seekers.
Can’t imagine any boat being launched down this… more like a drop off!
Log ride! Weeee!!! Just like at the amusement parks. Looks like fun for some thrill seekers but not me. Be careful there you don’t fall in.
It’s August and I’m betting that the water level is much lower than the rest of the year. Come back in late October and I’d bet the water level would make it look less precarious.

But, not sure I will be able to load it again!
That’s exactly what I was thinking – must be the Minnesotan in us that wonders how one would get it back up the ramp as well! :-)

I would slide down it into the water but there would be a lot of splinters in me bum, so no thanks.
