I'm walking every street in New York City.
This is the counterpoint to
my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city.

Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!
Hi Matt:
Just curious…each day when you walk, do you end up back where you started? Do you park a car all day where you begin, or….? Interesting job of logistics, keeping a record of where you have walked, etc. Keep up the great “work”. Best regards.
Some days I end up where I started, but other days I don’t. If I’m staying in a new neighborhood, then I can just walk out the door and start on my route, in which case I’ll also try to arrive back at the end of the day on foot. If I take the subway or bus to get to my starting point, I’ll often end up somewhere else at a different station or bus stop. In certain neighborhoods, I have lots of public transportation options, which makes it easier to plan the route. If I drive out to a harder-to-reach area, then I’ll try to end up back at the car. Occasionally I’ll take the subway to my starting point and then catch a ride with someone at the end of the day. Lots of possibilities!
Thanks Matt. I knew a man who had roller-bladed clear across the USA. And, I talked with a friend yesterday who has ridden his bike clear across the USA, 3-4 times. Continued good luck on your walking adventure. At least if you get lost, you are not too far from help/home. :-)
