Yes because I had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Took me some time to figure it out. Kept thinking “Denver Mint?” How does he know the sign is made there? Just couldn’t get it. Then, oh now I get it! Good one Matt, very funny. ha ha ha.
I truly wish I could say we did not have these signs in TN during elections. They are everywhere you look and they are tacky and some are not taken down for months after elections. We just had a primary in our County last week and I think most are still up.
Agreed…there is WAY too many signs up. Maybe we should be like England…where you only get 90 days TOTAL to do your politicking.
Michael…I chuckled when I saw Matt’s comment and then you followed up with yours!!! In my head I thought, is it a “commemorative” sign from the mint? (like the quarters) :)
The only ordinances I know of around here, maybe it’s national-don’t know, but the signs can only go up 30 days prior to an election and then are supposed to come down right after the election. From what I understand is they have a certain amount of time and then they can be fined. But I agree with the “pollution” of it all.
In Harris County (Houston area) I believe they have to get them down about 7 days after the election or they are fined. It seems to be working because very few are left up. I was really glad when they passed that one.
I got this immediately. My husband is a coin collector! I have followed Matt since the end of June. What a journey! I live in West Virginia, but have traveled in every state he has been through except North Dakota. I will be sorry to see his “walk” come to an end.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
LOLLOLOLOL. Now lets see you find Philadelphia or San Francisco.
I guess you and I are the only ones who got that joke.

I got it, too, and think it’s hilarious.
more like a (R) or an (I) ???
Ok, I must be challenged…care to enlighten me??
Doh! I get it!!! Ha ha, I’m not as slow as I thought. Thanks for the hint MN Roxanne!
We have an overflow of them in our little Georgia town-wish they would take them down as quickly as they install them.

I call this sign pollution!!!
Same here in MN , Don- I don’t like all the signs either…. visual pollution!!
Don in Tennessee…I agree sign pollution…there oughta be a law!

should be one week before a election and down the next day. Signs don’t vote…..if you get out you will be seen
oh I never changed my name back..woops

So clever.
OK, so I’m probably the dumbest person here. Can someone tell me what the joke is? Still don’t get it!
Don’t feel bad. I’m with you, Josh.
It’s okay Josh – Dr. Perky wasn’t strong enough this morning – my brain is still back in bed. Or I am working just too hard?
Hint: (D)

I’m not getting the whole Denver thing either.
Oooo! I got it! Like money! I feel so smart.
