Yet another memorial

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

this is so sad . I have found these road side memorials far too many times on my travels and pray that the victim is rip

flowers seem to answer so many questions in life and fill so many feelings in ways that words don’t know how.
The people of this neighborhood need to demand better sidwalks for pedestrians, ask for increased/better lighting along existing sidwalks, install cross walks, add yellow warning signs, reduced the posted speed limits, install speed cushions etc. Anything to slow traffic and give pediestrians a safer route. We have a highway in south Austin, Highway 71, where several people died before the city was finally forced to anything about the road safety. My prayers to the families.
