We parted ways this morning in Bowling Green, OH. For the record, he walked 8 miles on Monday after meeting me in the afternoon, and then 23, 20, 22, and 23 miles on each of the following days. He's a tough ol' sonofabitch!
Hi, I just happened upon an article about you walking across the U.S. tonight and found it really interesting in three ways. First because I absolutely love love love walking as well! So I may be a bit jealous of you right now :o) Second, I met someone back in February while I was at a rebuilding project down in New Orleans who was traveling around the U.S. continuously for what will be a year and a half long trip. He also was an engineer in road design and decided to step away from it to travel and visit old friends and meet new people along the way. He sold nearly all of his things and turned his van into his home and is currently in the middle of his trip. And third, I actually live in Bowling Green, Ohio and had I known about this earlier I would have been on the lookout for you! I hope the rest of your trip goes well and I will definitely be checking in to see whereabouts you are at!
Wish you would put more about how far you walked everyday.
Where you started each day and where you finished.
Every person you met.
Where you ended up sleeping at the end of the day.
So awesome your dad was able to join you on this adventure. I heard about your walk through a friend and am just now looking at all of your interesting photos and comments. Love to walk….but only a few miles at a time :) !
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
He does look a little leaaner. probably just the camera.
That was fantastic of him to join you and he almost walked 100 miles. By my calculations you should be over 600 miles yourself now.
When you finally make it back to NYC, I want your dad to come on a walk with us. I’ll bring my dad too, and we can have a Milk Station at the end.
Deal!
If my 1 year old grows up and does something like this I want to be there to do the same for him. Awesome dad.
How awesome that your dad joined you.
