“Lose a antler in a fight? Need bigger ones to impress the ladies? Come on down to Ron’s Pre-owned Antler shop and find a set that makes you King of the Herd!”
I’ve heard a couple of stories about small towns in the Midwest with lots of empty store buildings in the old downtowns, where local people have been putting displays in the windows. If someone’s got a collection they’re willing to put in a window for a few months, they figure it’s better than just having a dusty dead window. I wonder if that’s what this is?
This, I believe, is in Viola, WI. My husband and I live in neighboring Readstown. Wish we would have known you were coming through. We would have put you up, fed you and listened to your adventures.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Beautiful! I wonder if the antlers are still attached and the back of the store is filled with deer/elk…
Now I’ve seen it all…
I saw this and couldn’t help myself but to laugh!!! Your pictures have really made me smile.

You were in Wisconsin. As a native of that state, my guess is it was a bar.
Maybe an Elks Club?
Good one!
