Rudolph crossing
June 12th, 2010
I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

It’s tough to narrow it down to only one, but this sign is definitely at the top of my favorites list.

Hey! This one isn’t all shot up either. Must have been close to homes and people.
We have a sign just like this one here in Mentor, Ohio where someone took and put a red dot on the nose of the deer. How funny. I thought it was just a prankster here doing it. Maybe he too is walking across America only to put red dots on the noses of the deer on the signs.
We have them in Penn’a, too. I’ve seen a couple along the turnpike.
Ok…AMerica if a deer crossing sign is in your sight….Make it a rudolph. Blame Matt!!

These make me smile. I like them almost as much as the hula-hooping pedestrians…
when we are traveling an see these signs i am so hopeful to see one of those beautiful deer an it never happens! thinking about you today..
Not that beautiful when it smashes the front of your car all up.
There are several deer xing signs in my are I might just make some Rudolph signs.
Actually this one was probably made that way. Down near Chincoteague, VA, NASA has the Wallops Island facility and they have a huge field of dishes with the usual red lights at night. The deer crossing signs all have a red dot on the noses that was put on them on purpose, it’s not vandalism.
We have lots of Rudolph noses down in SW Ohio too!
