Definately not a dogwood…..based solely upon my BS Forestry 1974. And I should really know, I took the Tree ID course twice to make sure I knew it all. An ornamental fruit tree…..cherry or such……which is worthless within a commercial pine plantation (deep south) forestry education. Besides, isn’t “Pretty” the correct label?
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Some sort of cherry or crabapple tree? (I don’t want to cheat via Google.)
It looks to me like it might be a Callery pear (my favorite of the commonly-planted NYC street trees!) but I’m not sure.

Applewood – I’m pretty positive it’s an applewood.
I would say either plum blossom or cherry blossom (looks exactly like the ones in Japan).
This is a fairly late response..
