In Albemarle, NC there is a store that beats this in multi-functionality. Its called Vac n’ Dash and it sells: running shoes, vaccum cleaners (and servicing), screen printing services, and does UPS shipping. Great lil’ quirky shop also puts on some of the most fun road-races in the area.
In Lockport, NY (just north of Buffalo) there is a shop whose sign advertises ‘Tobacco, School Suppiles, and Ice.’ i was never able to figure out the connection.

This vaguely reminds me of Western Auto. Despite its name, that was a store similar to Sears. Smaller, perhaps, but definitely a big company in the 1960s. They got bought out in the 1980s, I think.
Can you imagine, buying a Guitar and a Bicycle and a Barbecue in a store called Western Auto? That was the 60s… But here we are now, doing just about the same with Amazon, so it’s not that different.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
the owner must be one talented guy
I bet all his bicycles run like clockwork….
