  1. Mom says:

Did you see any long hair hanging out?

  2. Wes says:

I live in Illinois, and if you don’t mind my asking, where was this?

    • Jim W says:

It’s outside of Lakemoor, IL. My first cousin’s the mayor, when we go up there, I always see it (I’m in the northeast corner of DuPage County for what that’s worth direction-wise)

  3. Shane says:

I saw this turret on a History Channel special about the Templars in America. Evidently some of the holes in it line up perfectly with the site of some Druid stone that was unearthed hundreds of miles away.

    • Doug Gray says:

Shane, I think that turret you are thinking of is on the east coast-Maryland, Virginia somewhere around there, close to the ocean. The runestone it was in line with is in Minnesota, if memory serves. I think this may have just been a creative grain silo.

  4. April Gould says:

    Thiis a cool pic!

  5. Janine says:

Is it near a school bus stop? ;o)

  6. Beck says:

This was making me crazy because I couldn’t find out anything online about this place. I finally sent a message to the Village of Lakemoore. Here is the word for word response I received.

Ok that is an old silo it is on Lilylake it was part of the Seiffert property the house had all glass windows people from Chicago owned it the buildings were all torn down 15 years ago the silo is all that stands we have an article in our Lakemoor history book that tells of its owners ect .Charlie

Thanks for Charlie for writing me back.

    • Barb V says:

Classic example of a run-on sentence it’s up to the reader to visually interpret where periods should be so sense can be made of the response ect. Barb
