Day 55

A Warm Wisconsin Welcome

May 20th, 2010

I spent the evening sitting on the deck with Liz and Ronnie, drinking Korbel (brandy) and soda, and watching the sun set: a beautiful end to a long, hot day. When their son Carl and his girlfriend came home later, we all had dinner together.

You are restoring my faith in America with the reporting of your wonderful journey. We in CA ain’t quite so friendly. God Bless you.

Side note: I recall a similar journey published by a guy in the OC Register newspaper way back in the early 80’s. He did the trip by bicycle,..and also had a wonderful trip. Encountered wonderful warm friendly people.

Haha brandy. No shock. People in this state love brandy for some reason.

    • El Grego says:

I once read the reason we Sconnnies like brandy so much is that French trappers and explorers brought it into the region back in the 15 and 16 hundreds. That may be as much legend as fact.
