One must question as to whether this was done by the disgruntled Sad face drawer from previously posted picture. Perhaps he got a raise….and changed his tone of Tar Application.
That’s awesome! Maybe he was checking out your blog and it made him smile. It always makes ME smile! Like so many others, I truly appreciate what you are doing, Matt. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. It takes me back to my cross-country road trip days, though you get to see so much more…especially mailboxes! :) It’s so nice to follow a happy, peaceful site where everyone is supportive and friendly. Even on those rare occasions when a commenter starts to get controversial, someone brings it back to the simplicity that we crave. This is truly a special and inspirational site. Thank you!
April well said. I think you eloquently put into words why I check in with Matt every day too. It seems that the media bombards us with everything that is wrong with our world, but Matt’s blog shows us all that is right.
DITTO to the millionth power. That is simply why Matt and this sharing should be broadcasted to the world – and Matt named Times Man of the Year and the Nobel Peace award candidate….because simply put…This is what they mean by Galvanizing…. There is so much good and beauty and much more then our censored spoonfed news….
Matt Rocks.
Maybe that sad face earlier was the beginning of the road guys day and this was the end? The long road he had to do and then finally getting to the end. Would make anyone smile. Comical road dept. crews out there in ND.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.

Assuming the same road worker painted both doodles, perhaps it’s just the difference between Monday and Friday.
Right on Andrew!! I jokingly say that I live for just two things: five o’clock and Fridays. Ba ha ha ha! And guess what? Yeah, it’s Friday!
Only 50 miles to MONTANA! Maybe the NDDOT worker was happy to be heading out of town?!
I’M sure he was happy Matt came to town.
Cheese!!!

Everybody SMILE !!!!
Looks like the kool-ade smile…..
This was probably done by a motorcycle. We like to make smiley face burnouts or peace sign burnouts with our motorcycles! :)
