Yes, one in every county and one of them just around the corner from me. Nice shot here. Those big, darker clouds look nasty and then there is almost clear sky above that. This barn looks lonely out there, is there anything else around it?
Dorinda from OH…you would probably remember…National Geographic did a wonderful article…w/picture of course…of the Barns of Ohio…dun’up for Ohio’s…whatever celebration…Bicentennial maybe…but it was great…and you’re right it was one barn per/country in the state…that was a wonderful article…I think you can look it up yet…
Yes…Montana is referred to by many as “Big Sky Country”…and as you can see there is reason for it…there is also the Big Sky Conference, a college conference…all kinds of Big Sky named “stuff”…there is more online, won’t bore you with it…
But the thing I love about from Fargo to the Rockies, that vast basically flat expanse of land…is how much sky your can see…I can remember seeing 3 thunderstorms going on…one to the north, one to the south, one ahead of us…and we were never in danger of going through any of them…now that is a big sky…you can see forever…wonderful…
We have not heard from Matt about the “Northern Lights”…they must be around right now…and since you can see the stars so clearly that far north…they must be spectacular…enough I know…
Whoa, those clouds! Now I know what a “big sky” is….This picture and the one below it are amazing. Do you take these on a phone, as I recall? If so that’s even more amazing.
My B/F saw this picture and immediately said, “Big Sky Country” He said, that is what a lot of people call the sky in Montana. This is the most awesome picture ever.
Matt, you are gonna have to enter some of your photos in some photo contests. You would definately win with hands down.

That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Yes, I do recall that one in Ohio.
Another winning shot, and look at those clouds. They are huge, fluffy, and seem to be kissing the top of the barn.
You did, but another awesome picture, Matt.
I find this to be a most awesome photo. I love the lowering clouds and the red, white and blue barn. Matt, I salute you! Take care of yourself!
Ah… Ohio. It seems like such a LONG time ago. ;)

Another photo that looks like a painting.
Home, Home on the range.
Where the deer and the antelope play.
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word.
And the skys are not cloudy all day!
I know this is the Kansas State song but it sure is fitting for this awesome piece of photography.
How lucky you are to see this awesome scenery. Thanks for sharing it with the HOBO NATION!
I started singing that song as soon as I read “range” too!!! ha ha…
Beautiful shot Matt… love it.
THAT DANG SPELL CHECK AGAIN (skies) not skys!
Get it together there Don. I think you’ve been singing your “Happy Song” to much. : ) (kidding).
I am laughing so hard right now…..Let our days begin, eh?
WOW, THIS IMAGE IS EXACTLY WHAT AMERICA IS ABOUT!
This shot looks like something one might see printed in National Geographic, Matt. It speaks volumes.
