  1. Lori from Calif. says:

Whee! I’m first! wondering if Matt saw any horses!

  2. Chuck says:

Hey Matt, your posting a mid-night? Get some rest its still a long way to the beach…

  3. Jeff says:

cmon in….the gates are open. Awesome Gate #?

  4. Karen Too says:

Another winning shot. The terrain gives a sense of motion to everything, and again, the colors, textures are rich. Beautiful.

The iron work on the gate is pretty nice, too.

As a horse lover, I agree with the name.

  5. Gigi says:

    Where are the horses?

  6. Jeannie from Day 12 says:

Matt, you passed through Wine Country. How much wine did you drink? There’s a great winery in Maryville.

  7. Julie in Cincinnati says:

I may have missed this in some of the posts/comments over the past week or so, but why is Matt “off course” from his trip plan?

    • Gayle Opie says:

Looks to me like he’s just bypassing the interstate — probably someone gave him directions that would be safer. I don’t think you’re supposed to walk on the interstate.

    • Stephen says:

Possible reason: I think Matt may be visiting the 7 wineries in the Horse Heaven region, which may be causing him to get ‘off course’. He also may be taking the advice of some here to take his time in this final stretch of his walk and ‘stop and smell the Rosé’. (grins)

    • Julie in Cincinnati says:

Ahhh, makes sense. I just didn’t know if something had happened or was wrong. Actually…….we could combine both reasons and say that since he’s visiting the 7 wineries in the region, it’ll be safer for him to stagger, I mean walk, the hills and not the highway….. :-D

      • charlie says:

not really off course, if you do a walking trip from kennewick to horse heaven to rockaway beach, it is still very much on track

  8. katzien in austin says:

Agreed…it’s heaven. Just look at the hills and mountains. And the little swaths of green…grapes growing in the vineyards. ;-)

  9. deb says:

The light steel gray of the sky/gate/asphalt are gorgeous against the pale gold grasses! Beautiful shot, Matt!

  10. Lisa Downing says:

Oh- I thought it was a cemetary for horses,, Doo de doo-

  11. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Horse Heaven is beautiful. Looks like what every horse would want heaven to be like-totally open plains for them to run and romp. This is horse heaven for sure. And it’s gorgeous too.

  12. Saun in Ohio says:

    Totally gorgeous…..
