I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.

Here's my progress so far:
What Mt is that Matt???
I finally read…. Mt Hood… it’s huge… the goat is so tiny… you are so high…
Dinner!…If a locomotive hits it.
that was a really baaaaaaaaad thing to say, lance!
Goat is nowhere near the track. He’s on a ledge looking things over. Would be a Goatzilla if he were actually ON the track.
That goat will look baaaaad if this Z train just leaving Wishram heded for Avery hits it!

See below to acess the cool video- You will think you are at the site of this photo by Matt.
you do realize how lucky you are to have views of mt. hood and rainer don’t you?? they are gorgeous up close. were you able to see any part of mt. saint helens? that area always impressed me. when i was younger-we drove up mt. hood to the lodge–at the bottom it was sunny and gorgeous, at the lodge it was snowing. my sister had fallen asleep and woke up at the lodge to the snow and her comment i believe was “where the hell are we? what happened?”
OK-try again.

Well, you are almost finished. That’s Mt. Hood in the background.
Please do us Oregonians a favor. Don’t take any more photos of beautiful sunny days and wonderful vistas. Wait until it rains, which won’t be long. Tell people that when you got to Oregon you found a man out walking his pet salmon. Another fellow reported a UFO but it turned out to be the sun. Dogs with short legs often drown — and so on. Most people would not like it here, especially those from the East Coast. Many thanks!
right….next time I hear about the gloomy weather out there and Washington I will be thinking of a two letter word that is another way of saying Male Cow Manure…… I am just saying. too late to cover up the real beauty and now on to the conspiracy theory why.
When my son was 5, one beautiful early summer Seattle morning, he came running to me in alarm saying, “Mommy, Mommy what’s all that stuff in the sky?” I told him I didn’t see anything, that there wasn’t even a cloud in the sky. He cried, “That BLUE stuff, Mommy. What’s all that Blue stuff?”
True story.
LOL ! That’s funny. You must get a ton of rain out there for that to frighten him.
Absolutely gorgeous Matt. Great shot.
Is it one of the Billy Goat Gruffs trying to cross the bridge because the grass is greener on the other side?
Goat, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere.
That goat is looking to hop a train, I think!
Good one Candince. Baaaaa!!!!
This is wonderful windsurf spot. Over the past 3-4 months it’s been blowing 25-30mph out of the west at this location 3-4 days a week. You may be seeing lots of kiteboarders and windsurfers soon.
Great train ride Don, thanks..awesome!
Jerked Goat…..what is your weapon of choice Matt….Bear Spray…..?
Jerked goat. Yum. Let’s goat to Jamaica, next, Matt!
i’ll see your Yum and we will have a yum yum. two weeks from yesterday…Jerked Goat here I come.
man, took me a while to finally see the goat.
It’s probably heading down for a cool drink of water.
The deer around here do it several times a day, crossing a busy route to get to/from the creek (that is more like a river) right across from my house.
Did he say “Cheese” ?
Really nice shot of Mt. Hood. I’ve been waiting for this for some time now. Me like!
OMG a goat!
Goats appreciate a wonderful view too.
