MATTWALKING POOL is officialy closed. Not like the pool in the above video.
Assuming matt posts sometime today……day 145 of walking (8/18/10) I will post on the first picture as close to the top the dates that were chosen in August…..it probably will be over shortly so the majority of us who said September…close but no, no cigars……..unless matt uses the breaks….or a bear scares him into a slower finish…….so happy Hump day…and I will be posting the results shortley. 4 People choose August….And one is the Mayor Of Hobo Nation……what would you call him as leader of HoboPlanet???
There’s only one leader of HoboPlanet, and he is Matt. He has led us all to this blog, to restoring faith in America, and to each of us seeing our fellow Americans in a positive light… something the media continuously fails to do. Lead on, Matt!
i was in Germany, enthusing over a waterfall i saw there. but this one puts that one to shame! all your pictures make me long to get planning on a US road trip :-)
There are many, many waterfalls in the area Matt is in right now. One of the largest ones is Multnomah Falls…and it’s just beautiful. You would have to spend a solid week hiking to all of the falls…and may not even get to all of them. One of the many treasures of the area I feel lucky enough to live in. :)
When I was little we used to play right there! Matt thank you for taking me on a journey of my youth! This has been an amazing voyage for many of us, who do not get the chance to do so, i know I speak for a lot of us, when I say we will be sad to see the end, but happy that you mad such a long journey!!! Your so close now! Keep it up and enjoy the rest of this pristine place!
Holy cow that’s a lot of water usage lol! we use about 6-9k gallons a month but our bill is just about the same….though I live in the boonies and have to have water hauled and I only water when nature doesn’t provide for longer periods…I guess when you have too have it hauled to you , you become more aware of how much you use…Of course I have 4 boys who are preteen showers and flushing the toilet isn’t in their vocab. :D
Oh gosh, this is definitely making me homesick…..although Multnomah Falls is the greatest and bestest! I can’t remember if you pass Bridal Veil Falls before or after Multnomah. That is what makes this entry into Portland so special…all the greenery, water, views. You must be walking on the Old Highway…so you will go through some old tunnels. Be careful! Before they built I-84 this route was the only one road. My parents have their Honeymoon pictures taken in their old T Model Ford….along this spot. Enjoy! And thanks for the pictures…and videos.
A real swimming hole with a waterfall. This might be Horsetail alls but it would be nothing to horse around with. The water would again be great for a massage. It looks very inviting!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Did you join them? It looks awesome.

Oh lets not go there. Don’t want any head to swell. Then where would we be?

Such a pretty little fall….nice swimmin hole….would love to spend the day there!
People! And at the falls! Did you sit and chat a while and splash around a bit too? Looks like it would be a nice refreshing treat on a hot day.
I do hope you went for a swim… how could you pass this up????
My God is that gorgeous. All that wonderful cool mountain water pouring over the edge. And it’s there for all to enjoy.
Here I am in Phoenix, AZ and everyone is getting all excited because we had an 1/8″ of rain this evening.
Perspective I reckon.

Seems like the falls bathers are oblivious to your celebrity cult status. ha!

Just gorgeous. How much longer do you think it will take you to reach your goal? I will be sad not to see your daily musings and photos. Be safe.
Did you jump in before or after you took this vid?
Waterslide…..yeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
LOL!!!!!
Awesome!!
Looks like the falls hit the pool with a lot of force; now that would be fun. Nature’s shower massage.
What did they say when you broke out the soap and shampoo?
LOL!
OMG that is so pretty. Matt you are so luck to be able to enjoy earth’s true beauty.
my water bill for the past 30 days was $250 for 25,000 gallons of water. this waterfall must do that in 30 minutes!

holy moley! i’d bet by the end of today/tomorrow matt’ll be under the 100 miles to go, mark!! Yippee!
Wow! I’ll bet that plunging in there would feel fabulous after walking on a hot summer day. I hope Matt took a dip!

Karin – I just checked out your blog – and the first photo I clicked (the Parikia ferry) Wow! I’m going to explore YOUR blog later “as time permits”.
I invite you to enjoy the blog! Keep in touch!
Beautiful video of the falls! Your trip is winding down! Way to go, Matt!
That’s one helluva shower! Great video!!
Oh my! What I wouldn’t give right now for a waterfall massage.
At last! I get to HEAR a waterfall on Matt’s blog! woohoo!
I know! This was definitely video worthy! Thanks Matt!
I used to live real close to Multnomah falls, its spectacular. Good luck on the rest of your trip, you’re almost there!! :)

Stunning!
What I wouldn’t give to spend the day there on a floatie with a picnic cooler…..totally amazing. I hope stayed and marveled for a bit.
