Fellow hobos, a few posts back someone mentioned looking out for YouTube posts. I just found this Rockaway site that has links to posts to YT. Perhaps later some will appear. http://www.topix.com/city/rockaway-beach-or
eh…the stories I could telll….the letters I have held. I got the news in 1942, when cousin John got married to that girl with the two belly buttons. I got the news in 1980 when Unle Frank ate too much watermelon and passed out at the 4th of July. I got the announcement in 2010 that a hobo was comin’ through. eh….the stories I could tell!
Okay, I’ve had it. I’m reading news over lunchtime, and I see words like crash, stolen, kills, dead, beaten, gloom, floods, suicide, victims, recall, smashes, scam, probe, hurt, investigation, bombs…need I go on?? I want to stay in this world of I’m Just Walkin’ and continue reading words like thanks, love, support, appreciation, sharing, yay, wonderful, awesome, etc.
I love it and am so relieved it’s not a toilet. I kept looking at the little thumbnail picture as I was reading along the other posts until I got here and I thought “oh know, it’s a commode along the road side”. Friends of mine once had an old fashioned claw foot bath tub out at the end of the drive, front of yard, filled with dirt and planted flowers. The tub was painted a bright yellow. Was pretty awesome.
I like this one and the comments above about how well the mailbox has grown up out of it. That’s funny. I bet this would be pretty with some little flowers planted in there. Or do ducks come by for a drink every now and then?
way to go!! you made it to God’s country. A long way to walk, but we have enjoyed your trip too by reading all your journals and your pictures are out of this world!! Thank you for sharing all those days with everyone. Good luck to whatever you do and hopefully one day you can have this published in a book.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Funny! Wish I had that kind of ‘green thumb.’
Wonderful!!!!
I’m sayin’ that mailbox was a good investment. Most things don’t last that long anymore.

How great to get one more mailbox on your last day!!!
I’m sure there are pretty flowers around its post in spring and summer. It’s in need of a paint job though ..

Kat, I’ve closed my office door and am doing the same. The crazy world can wait. For now, I am living in the reality of HOBO.
VICARIOUSLY may I assume? Michael – my brother – Thank you again for sharing.
Vicariously on the last day. I love it!
you forgot ‘hugs’!!
Miracle Gro only on one half of the mailbox. Poor little Oregonian. Always in the shadow, now.
I think there is a bird flying in the background.
Hey Karin theres that box for the Oregonian you were talking about before.
I was going to try to find the bear but had to settle for the mailbox. Interesting though … apparently either it has weathered quite a bit or it was replaced with an older one since the street view was taken:

Another interesting thing on this street view is if you go back to the east a little, you will see someone walking!

I think that is for water???…water trough reused…sounds like a good idea…it’s a small one…just right for growing a mailbox…

It does look like a toilet when you look at the thumbnail picture, that’s funny
