Yesterday I consumed my first-ever energy drink, Brain Xplozion, and it was so tasty that I had to have another. And another. And before I knew it, I had kicked the whole case. I was suddenly engulfed by a raging frenzy of kinetic energy, and found myself tearing through the streets of New York at a furious pace. I couldn't stop moving, and continued my rampage all through the night, covering every single remaining block in the city. Wow, 7000+ miles in less than 24 hours. That's got to be some kind of record. Anyway, thanks for following along these three months! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a heart attack and take a nap. I'll post the 18,537 photos I took just as soon as I can get my hands on some more BX.
Well done Matt! I read your blog every day and every day you can make me smile.
Happy April 1st my friend
Congrats! Can’t wait for the next leg of the trip. I’m loving your endeavor…Giving me a chuckle everyday…Inspiring me to get out there and discover the greatness of this great great city!
I bet if you had those available to you last year you could have gone rockaway to rockaway in a day!
april fools! you almost had me
Hahaha, happy April fools! Looking forward to those 18,537 pics.
“energy” drink is a misnomer. it’s caffeine. lots of it.
Please don’t collapse until you color all your map in red….visual closure and all. so long mattrek.
Laughing my butt off here!!!! You are just too funny! I love your sense of humor. This is a good one.
You sure the drink was not ACME your lines sound like something off the ROAD RUNNER SHOW. The Wolf or whatever he was would take vitamins and it gave him so much energy he would speed past ROAD RUNNER AND FALL OUT FROM EXHAUSTION. Don’t let that happen to you Matt Runner.
It’s maybe good you walk alone. That “burst” may have given you energy but it may have made you intolerable to deal with on a personal level. Please go it alone without chemical “enhancements.?”
Amazing history lesson. Can’t imagine all the research you have to do to put up all the links and background info. Keep up the great work.
enjoying your walks and photos from down in south carolina! thanks for sharing new york with all of us!
sorry I missed it, I was away on the moon for the third time this year! Those rockets are sure powerful
MATT THE WAY IT LOOKS YOU NEED SOME EACH DAY, YOU’RE GETTING 4 OR 5 DAYS BEHIND ON POSTS.
WGATS WRONG NEW YORK STREETS MORE TIRESOME THAN CROSS COUNTRY.
WGATS SHOULD BE WHATS.
Thanks Matt for being out there. I’m job hunting and your posts are a fresh breath of visual and historical air I get to breathe each day. Happy April Fools day. And thanks.
Hi MATT – love your website. Have been following it for a couple of weeks now, have recommended it to friends, and have put a link on my site. I go to New York several times a year, but have only been off the Island twice – and have been curious about what’s happening in the other boroughs. There is never time to visit them. Thought about running the Marathon just to see what’s over there. You’re saving me the trouble.
I like the way you photograph your city – lots of human interest and quirkiness. Keep it up and we’ll all keep watching.
hahah april fools
Don’t stop believing!
Hey Matt! What’s going on? Are you OK? I know- April Fool’s was last week. Did you get hit by a car for real?
