It is the inevitable fate of a staircase such as this — one shielded from the street — to smell like urine. While I am certainly aware of the dearth of public restrooms in many parts of the city, I am also aware that there are like ten million trees, including the ones from the previous photo, just steps away from here. If you're gonna micturate in public, do it right!

The scent of laziness

I grew up in a rural area where farmers often step behind a nearby tree to pee – it’s much quicker than going all the way back to the house, and you don’t have to worry about your wife yelling at you for tracking in mud. Our neighbor once mentioned that when he does that, he always looks up at the sky and waives, in case a satellite or plane is photographing the area. After thinking about that concept, my family started ALWAYS coming back inside to use the restroom…
