The NYC Organics Collection pilot program, currently only active in a few neighborhoods, is an early step in an effort to train city residents to separate their organic waste so it can be composted instead of dumped in landfills.

This little family burial ground is believed to date back to the mid-18th century. The oldest identifiable grave is that of Colonel Jeromus Remsen, a veteran of the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War, who died in 1790.
