I'm walking every street in New York City.
This is the counterpoint to
my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city.

Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!
Hi Matt. I notice that there is a lot less stones on the graves pictured here than in previous pictures you’ve taken in Jewish cemeteries. Are they older graves that get less visitors perhaps?
It’s actually not too uncommon to see graves without stones on them. (Here’s an example from Mt. Zion Cemetery.) It looks like many of the people above died in the 1950s and ’60s, so it would make sense that they don’t get many visitors anymore. But even people who died more recently may not have many family members or friends in the area to visit them.
Looking at the other photo it appears as though the graves are from a similar period, perhaps even older. Time moves on and people become faded memories is suppose.
