OH! – and the touch phones – a step up from the string and 2 tin cans! – That sky will be goergous tonight when the stars are out! I am jealous that I do not get to enjoy this sky tonoght.
Matt, thank you for another gret shot. Don’t forget to touch your phone tonight!
Apparently the old dial versions were just too slow, but they were fun to dial! Time to upgrade to the 60’s and get a TOUCH tone phone. Oh wait, still 50 years behind : )
That is called paying extra for obsolete technology! The patent probably has not run out on “touch” dial service! Besides what else would you expect from our great leaders in Washington who are not in the real world?
That is enough on that.
Thank you Matt for helping us see the reasl USA step by step!
Personally Dan, I can’t wait to get ‘back to the future’ here…I must be one of the last of a dying breed…no cable, satellite dish tv, etc…just over the air waves…and when they made the switch from analog to digital I went from something like 9 channels to just ONE…and that pixelates on me whenever bad weather is upon us and stays that way for a couple of days.
thinking here…now living in the midwest – when would i NEED tv the most??? oh yes…just about the time the tornado is about to hit…but alas…by then all I have are choppy little squares the revert to ‘No Signal’…Uffda!
Uffda???…wait a minute…must be a real Minnesotan out there Patty…hopefully Matt has come up against an Uff da or two on his walk…there are of course many more versions of Uff da…missing a turn may be an Uff da…slipping on a “cow pie” on the way to church…now that may be an “Fee da”…or something like that…
So good to hear a little MN slang again!!!…sorry for the following…but couldn’t help it…
Hey, while most of y’all were enjoying electricity we were still fighting Indians….. Seriously. Y’all need to realize we haven’t been tamed for all that long out here.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
THE fancy future maybe. There’s ice, too!
Are those 4 bee hives in the background betwen the sign posts? Might be the hives for the bees on the flower in a previous post.
Where would you go to get food to stock the LARGE KITCHETTE?
BIG SKY-SERENE BEAUTY!!!-God’s hand in action again!!! – Thank God for the beauty and Matt for the photo!
thanks matt, thanks god. Howd I do Don?
As Tony Tiger would say-GRRRREAT!
They do appear to be bee-hives – at least at Flickr Original size, they do!
A “Large Kitchette?” Wouldn’t that be a kitchen?
* sloppy typing….”kitchenettte”

HAHAHAA

Jeff

My guess is that is a very old sign, and that they meant touch tone phones.

They roast their own coffee!!! Sign me up for a weekend.
My favorite is cable TV!! – without Cable in that country, you get two channels – one “snowy”.

Great sign!
That is ONE BIG BLUE SKY! Plus – TOUCH PHONES! :) That’s an old sign or an alternate universe. How far we’ve come in communication technology!
I would trade Patty my fiber optic U-Verse television service for one night of stargazing the Montana sky…but then I want it back!
maybe Morgan Freeman can clear it up since he frequents wormholes…
They even got cable in color! (Yeah for sure this sign is dated, and has not been updated since the 80’s!)
