I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.

Here's my progress so far:
First and First one to say that I’m sure I know what killed the toys!
Toy Slayer.? No way…possibly…if it has a warp drive button…..but then why were they not damaged….hmmmm….don’t look him in the eye….just in case Sera is right…..
That’s pretty cool! I love these kind of scuptures – made of odds and ends.
Are there homes on this trail? I see some boats!
Lots of lake homes — some just small cabins & some very high end real estate. The trail is close to the road in many places. I live on the Spokane River which flows out of the NW end of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Matt is on the South end of the lake where the St. Joe River flows in, about 25 miles from here.
It certainly is a beautiful area – I can see why you would put a high-end home there.
QUICK! Get out the Mantis Spray!!
:) AND/OR the plunger handle of death!
Are there any more like this along the trail? A ladybug, perhaps?
The entomological Walking tour and Sculpture gardens……a million dollar idea GiGi.
MAN TIS the season for these little creatures. Did it pray for you as you went by?
Cute sculpture. I wish I had the ability to imagine building something like this out of others so called junk-but I think you are either born with artsy-musical talent or not. I am a not.
I agree Don – you are either born with it or not. I was born with the talent to appreciate it! I tried to figure out what this was made from. I see a LOT of bicycle parts, but what that head is (a motorcycle gas tank, maybe) and that chunky “hoof” looking thing at the bottom – I don’t know. But to envision it and then have the skills to put it together. Amazing talent!
Oh – and I just noticed, it’s guarding a picnic table!
I think it’s mostly motorcycle parts. I see a gas tank, foot shifters, part of a fender, Maybe a set of forks holding the head. That is so cool.
very original… right up there with all the cool mailboxes!
matt could leave a postcard in it’s claw and then we could add it to the Awesome Mailbox List…post walking tour!!!
I vote yea!
I think I recognize this guy…he was an extra in Terminator or Transformers!
Is this the one that got away from ND? Neat sculpture. Some people are so creative. I really like this.
You know what? Artists like this have so many opportunities these days to display their talent (which I love!). This would be a cool thing to have in a downtown “themed” art display….like “Summer Bugs” or something like that. The Recycled Art world is making quite the name for itself. I like it!
Very clever, and creative.
That is great, I love it.
Another big critter in the great North West!
Aaaugh!! Will bear repellent work on a giant metal Mantis that hides in the bushes?!!
What creativity…love it!
