This is "Nature Boy". He dedicated it to me and told me to look up the lyrics:
There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy
And sad of eye
But very wise
Was he
And then one day
A magic day he passed my way
And while we spoke of many things, fools and kings
This he said to me
"The greatest thing
You'll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved
In return"
This entry and the last one are amazing. Thanks, dude.
The words are from the title song of “Moulin Rouge” with Ewan McGregor, etc.
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn, is just to love, and be loved in return.”
Come what may.

Great video footage! “Nature Boy” was made popular by singer Nat King Cole in the late 1940s and was composed by by Eden Ahbez.
I used to play the saxophone back in school. The saxophone and flute are played with the same finger positions; only the breathing is different.
That’s the coolest thing ever. The End.
I wish I had the courage to do something like this. Random acts of kindness from normal people is an extaordinary and touching experience that we, often times, take for granted. Thanks so much for documenting your trip and sharing with everyone. There is a Nicholas Sparks book called “The Lucky One” that I read recently. The main character walked halfway across the U.S. in it and I thought about how wonderful and humbling that would be. …and today I ran across an article talking about you actually doing it. I think it is amazingly awesome! I’ll pray for your safety.
Wow! Is about all there is to say! ( and also where’s the tissues?)
lovely on so many levels… keep on finding the real America… the media rarely lets us see what is really out there.
This has always been one of my favorite songs.
How sweet it is that Rob not only played it for you, but dedicated it to you, too. A talented, special spirit of a man.
Nat King Cole sings it…..great song!!
This man has it right…. you’re meeting everyday people doing amazing things and I think it’s wonderful!
Wonderful talent – giving me goosebumps!
This one made me teary-eyed.
My favorite post to date, and lovely yes on so many levels.
Niiiice!!!
