Inventor of QWERTY

  1. Barbara Kiviat says:

I like this post very much. Thank you for it.

  2. Dave says:

Here I am trying to make some smartass comment about how he actually invented
    3 5 7 9 N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
    2 4 6 8 . A B C D E F G H I J K L M
rather than QWERTY, but even while pushing a cart across rural Pensylvania, your Wikipedia mastery exceeds mine. He DID invent QWERTY, much to the chagrin of the 8 Dvorak enthusiasts worldwide. Well done.

    • Barbara Kiviat says:

Suddenly, there is another Barbara commenting. I now know how you feel, Dave. That is, if you’re the Dave who noticed—and correctly thought to comment on—the presence of an extra Dave. I am happily revisiting my decision to use my last name.

      • Mom says:

The second Barbara is a FOM (friend of Mom). It will be interesting to see which given name wins out as most frequent as the weeks (months) go on.

  3. Nancy & Dennis says:

  7. Chris Gable says:

Do you know what the longest word is that you can type using only the top row of the keyboard? Don’t cheat by looking it up!!! I’ll check back if you give up.

  8. Barb V says:

After reading the comments on “Barbara”s, and myself being named Barbara, I thought this would be a good place to jump in with my support and encouraging words. I sent you an email recently telling you how I learned about you and your journey right after reading the fiction novel “The Walk.” I’m finally taking some time to catch up with you from the beginning. I’ve posted a link to your site and your story on my Facebook so that others may be inspired by you and the many incredible people you meet along the way. Praying God will keep you safe, strong, and secure. Go, Matt!!
