  1. Jason Eppink says:

    1) make the fence more visible to fast-moving traffic
    2) something inside the cans rattles to scare livestock away from the fence

  2. Barbara Kiviat says:

Warning to other soda cans to not come near this property?

  3. Nancy & Dennis says:

people that hung the soda cans wanted to see the electric shock go off they were actually playing chickie with the fence??? hows that Matt ???

  4. Thomas says:

I think it is along the lines of what Jason suggests in #2 … but maybe to deter deer.

  5. Uncle Alan says:

Maybe they’re really beer cans. Get the deer drunk, catch them, and then enjoy venison stew!

  6. kevin says:

Farmers use to pee in them as a contest to see who would last the longest…??

  7. Thomas says:

Actually, you may have crossed a beer migration path and some of them just got caught in the fence.

  8. Matt,

Some people in the NC mtns. use that method to keep deer out of their gardens.

  9. Jon Keller says:

Maybe its the Southern Tier NY in me speaking, but I immediately thought about shooting.

  10. Patrick Roddy says:

    I’d shoot at ’em.

  11. ScorpioVI says:

That fence has nothing on Coco’s fence (Baja, Mexico) http://scorpiovi.smugmug.com/photos/729311408_S3ixT-L.jpg

  12. Rachel Larsen says:

‘Fence Flags’ used to make the fence more visible to livestock so they don’t get hung up in the wire.
Or local drunks proudly showing off their handiwork.
    Maybe a bit of both.

  13. Karen Lang says:

The guy’s peeing on the fence dropped them???

  14. Robert says:

Rural PA gang sign……they could not find a dumb white guy walking through the ‘hood so they could steal his tennis shoes……go with what you got.

  15. Dan says:

This guy heard about “Jolt Cola” and wanted to try some.
