My understanding is that Lilacs are taller and have a conical shape to the blooming areas… This looks like a variety of Jasmine… and Jasmine smells heavenly!
That doesn’t look like a lilac bush…lilacs grow in big clusters and the leaves are too small. Lilac bushes have big flat leaves. I think it looks more like a star jasmine bush.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.

Yes lilacs do smell wonderfull and I’ve always wished they bloomed longer then they do here, only about a week or so in the spring.
Those are lilacs for sure, my FAVORITE smell in the spring. I’ve never seen them trimed to a hedge like that…very interesting.

This appears to be Korean Dwarf Lilac, a very fragrant, low-growing variety of lilac, Matt.
