Dave, my buddy from New York, walked the last ten miles of the day with me yesterday and then bought us some beer at the Terrace (part of UW's student union) to celebrate my first 1000 miles.

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Fack-part of UW’s student union is on the waterfront? Very nice-Edgar’s in Clemson is just attached to the bottom floor of the regular dorms. Awesome!
It’s a beautiful site with tables and chairs overlooking the lake. A bit chilly in the winter though. I walked about halfway across the lake once (on ice : P) and back, brrrrrr. Good thing it was thick enough and I didn’t fall through.
