Day 63

May 28th, 2010

It's another one of those.

  1. Todd says:

    What exactly is that?

  2. Tavis says:

It looks like a pressure regulating station for possibly propane(givin the obvious fire hazard) for heating the houses in the neighborhood.

The 2 larger valves are regulating valves and just to the right of those is what’s called a Y-strainer to catch whatever debris might be in the line.

    • Dave says:

We have similar ones in Orlando (painted in gaucher colors) and I thought they’re for water distribution. We don’t have any freeze danger here so it’s OK for them to be above ground- I’m guessing that as far north as you are, having above-ground water pipes would be a bad idea. Propane sounds good!

  3. Barry says:

Time for the truth-it regularly sprays UFO repellent. That’s why we have so few sightings here in MN.

  4. Jay says:

That is a gas line. It’s natural, not propane.
