  1. Gigi says:

I hope it didn’t come from the deer that’s mounted on the wall ;-)

Now, I see Coke cans on the table ..

  2. kristin says:

did you know that this place made national news, and was mentioned on oprah because it’s one of the last if not the last gas station that runs on the honor system.. everyone in sentinel butte has a key and they go get their gas and then write it down and are billed later… i am surprised you found people in the station, when i was there it was deserted! the whole town was actually.. kind of eerie!

  3. These people don’t seem to know what to make of you yet. Quite a stranger in them thar parts to them. They do look friendly though and nice little country type place too.

  4. Jeff says:

Honor system. I remember when the local hardwarestore did that…write it down on a index card and once a month my dad would get a bill for what we took. These people got smiles and it looks a whole lot nicer then the dinner people. Reminded me of that shot. Gigi darling beat me to my punch line….Venison sausage…awesome treat. Well, Kalua pig is in the slow is 2:18 am…and I am hitting the sack. happy forth of July Matt and fellow coat-tailers. Hobo Nation celebrates the fourth of July with Matt entering Montana. Hitting a “beach” and goodness knows what he will post. Peace my friends. Lets all have a Beer for Matt today. hopefully someone will give him one two.

  5. Karen Too says:

That is so sweet. There are some places sort of like that where I’m living now, where people trust you to come back and pay them, etc.

  6. Karen Too says:

The honor system – what a concept! Hadn’t thought of that old country store from my teen years in a long time – a place where purchases were put “on account.”

What a tremendously exciting country we live in! Seeing all the pictures of an open sky and vast landscapes makes me appreciate it all the more. Happy 4th to Matt and all who are following his journey!
