And the tourist flock for miles around to see the huge metal eye sore on top of the hill.
hehehe
Some thing make me wonder.
But you can not deny the beauty of the badlands.
I’ve been following Matt since Ohio… I just love how he’s sharing this beautiful journey with us each day. I hope he writes a book about his travels some day.
Medora is a tourist trap like Yellowstone, Yosemite…name any National Park…it’s all in what you do…but they are all ours…and they are beautiful…resist the lights and the “largest ball of twine” or some such thing…and enjoy the wonders in the Medora area…which is Theodore Roosevelt National Park…it is a wonder…
But as for the “tourist trap”…the Medora Musical…an outdoor theater…is great….for families…for anybody…in the middle of all that beauty…all of the tourists are us…or else we wouldn’t be there…we would just sit at home and let someone else do it…
-Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you’ve gotta pay
We’ll keep pushin’ till it’s understood
and these badlands start treating us good-
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.

Are you tempted to hitch a ride for a while?? ;-) Nice place for a rest though.
Medora has summer passion plays and is an old rustic town that holds to the traditions of the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Thanks chaser1, Matt hope you got some rest at the rest stop.
I’d fall for the trap. Breathtaking.
Beautiful. But what is that white metal pole on top? I can’t figure it out??!?!
The metal pole is a cell phone tower.
Even Worst!
Glad I don’t own one.
