Welcome to Circle, county seat of McCone County, home of the County Fair, I see you made it to the Round town — its not really round. When I was junior in high school the football field flooded clear up to the announcers stand – completely covered the bleachers. Go Wild Cats!
two thirds down and 1 to go. Remember when he hit 1000…
Who is gonna contact guiness for him…..walk on matt walk on…..
1050 or so to go…..
MATT FACT: Simple Math..here..Matt told me his average is about 23 miles a day. If I give him credit for 24 and with say 1050 miles to go…we are looking at roughly 43 more days to go…..I am sure there is gonna be a day or two off for regrouping…..but onward and upward..Matt.
karen Too, I would rather read all of your disclaimers than hear about your math speculations… This is about Matthews great adventure, I don’t care how long it takes, I just appreciate him sharing it with all of us…
Hi Chuck. In case you missed it, we have a pool going on how long it will take Matt to reach Rockaway Beach, Oregon.
Jeff set up an e-mail to send in our guesses, if you’re interested in participating.
We are doing the pool, and the math, just for the fun of it, and because we are amazed at how quickly Matt is walking. I’d venture a guess that we will all be sad when it’s over, and are in no hurry to see it end.
Awesome Matt- 2000 miles- Hip, Hip Hooray for you !!!! It’s been an awesome adventure so far from this end…
I know you’re enjoying it also… just amazing how fast it seems to be going… take care.
Wowzers! 2000 miles down…what, less than 1000 to go? That’s just so neat! Hydrate my friend…it was 95 here today (Vancouver, WA)…it’s heading your way.
Congrats Matt!!!! You are moving along quite quickly!!!! Are you sure your not wearing those (roller sneaker/shoe thingy’s)???? lol Great luck on all of your miles coming up!!!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.

Hey Glenda were your arch rivals the Butte Pirates?
Wow, what an accomplishment, 2,000 miles! Not many people can say they’ve walked that far in as quick a time as you have. Godspeed!
That’s quite a milestone, 2,000 miles. Congratulations, Matt!

Hi Jeff. If you simply divide 2000 by 103 (days), his average is 19.41748 miles per day.
If he can keep up that pace, then he will arrive in Oregon in about 54 to 55 days from now.
This is not factoring in a more than usual number of rest days, weather, any time for repairs, etc., so that number could fluctuate.
I used Jeff’s number of 1050 miles left to calculate 54 to 55 days.
If using Matt’s estimate that the trip is a total of around 3100 miles, then he has about 1100 miles to go.
If so, then it would go up to about 56 to 57 days, plus factoring in the other stuff I mentioned.

Whoo-hoo! Congratulations, Matt! At this rate you should reach your destination by the end of summer. What’s your average walk in miles per day?
23 per day average.
