  1. Chaser1 says:

I work for Richland County serving as an IT Security expert for the county departments. We have a Conservation and Weed Board here too.

    • Glenda says:

I believe all counties in Montana have Weed and Pest Boards – at least all that i’ve lived in or traveled through.

  2. Karen Too says:

I saw quite of few of them on Google, in various counties. They seem to be all over Montana!!

  3. MN Roxanne says:

Who knew??? We certainly have signage trying to stop the weeds spreading from our local lakes… but I’ve never thought of weed seeds being carried by vehicles traveling “off the road” . It is important to keep a healthy range!

  4. I agree. Something like this is very important to have. Healthy food, healthy animals. Makes sense.

Here where I am I’m dealing with a beetle investation on my snowball bush. Looks almost dead this year. I called the Ohio State extension service here and they told me what it is a gave me a website to go to for more information. People may not realize it but even carrying wood from one place to another carries the insects along with it. I know they have a huge warning out here about the Ash borer and not to bring wood in from Michigan. Things like this are important to have and to take care of. My beautiful bush may not survive this but I’m gonna try to save it. Go Montana!

  5. Candice in Alabama says:

Is that weed or WHEAT infestations?

  6. katzien in austin says:

Yeah, I believe it. Invasive species can really take over and devastate local native plants.

  7. Laurenis says:

    Those damn ob-noxious weeds!

    • Jeff says:

hitchhiking rides…. damm ob noxious weeds. Stay on your own dam land….

If only those cottonwoods would learn from the weeds….Matt could post a forest of them.

  8. Kevin from NC says:

Obnoxious weeds are just bothersome, you know, bad jokes, showing up without calling, etc. But watch out for their dangerous cousins, the Noxious variety. I’ve never had trouble getting weeds to grow, though, whereas my selected plants always take much more care, apparently a law of the universe.

  9. Robert says:

I can’t help but to remember that movie with Rob Schneider saying “you can put your weed in it”

  10. David says:

My dad used to yell at us for running across our neighbor’s (weedy) lawn and then onto ours (no weeds) because it would bring their weed seeds onto ours on our sneakers.

  11. Angelica says:

I wonder if there’s a connection between the “weed board” and the use of double exclamation points. hmmm…..

  12. Mark in NC says:

While Montana has it’s problems with weeds, here in the Carolinas it is the importation of foreign wood from outside states that is causing the native trees to suffer, especially in the mountain areas. North Carolina is pleading with tourists/vacationers NOT to bring in foreign wood for camping and to use only local wood for camp fires.

Kevin and Craig, I am surprised you didn’t make the connection with the Montana sign and North Carolina wood pests.

  13. Well after all we are one of only 13 states that legalized Medical Marijuana, theres got to be someone overseeing it! :)
