Larry and his wife saw me on the road yesterday and invited me to stay with them, but they live a little too far off my route. Larry was on his way to the Catholic church in Fort Shaw, which is right on the highway, so he checked with Father Marcel to see if I could stay there. Father Marcel let me sleep in the church last night, and he made me a mean breakfast this morning, featuring enormous blueberry buttermilk pancakes.
God was loney..and Matt heard his call. He gave him rest.
Numero uno!!
Let’s just hope that God doesn’t take the sign on his cart literally – “We may never meet again”. I wonder if Matt ever replaced the one that flew away…
why yes he did. it was visible on a interview he did with a Montana tv station.
is that tv interview available online? i am sure we’d love to hear matt’s voice!!

In a much-earlier post (or maybe it was an article?), Matt talked about that. He said he carries extras with him just in case.
Good one Jeff. Congrats.
Congratulations! Here’s a video to celebrate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzlpTRNIAvc
And a well-deserved rest on a different kind of ground – Holy ground. Matt, it’s so good to know about these wonderful people taking care of you. Stay safe!
Does anyone know – did I miss a comment that explains why the recent pictures seem a bit hazy? Camera problem or has Matt been walking through some gloomy weather?
I’ve been wondering that myself.
deb and Candice – According to recent tests, the DROID phone camera, which I assume Matt is still using, does not manage the low lighting of overcast sky and/or at dusk very well, thus shots taken in these more challenging conditions end up “looking hazy and blurry.”
Thanks young! I love Matt’s pictures. Here’s hoping the sun will come out…tomorrow.
Sorry! *blush* Couldn’t resist!
ohh ohh….because…thoooooooose lazy Hazy crazy days of Summer!!!
lol
Those “enormous blueberry buttermilk pancakes” sound really scrumptious Matt, but I’d hesitate to eat too many lest I might generate my own gravity field.
OH BOY- Blueberries (a favorite of mine) and chocolate covered prunes (plums Whatever- Now that would make for a BERRY EXPLOSIVE EVENT.
Oh man. Don. You’re killing me over here!
Bustin’ a gut with laughter!
Love the blue berrie pancakes, Make them all the time, Blues are being picked now in B C Canada, So good for you, Just so many kind people out there, Have a great day,
Thank you, Larry and Father Marcel, for watching out for Matthew.
Ditto!
Amen to that… and blueberry pancakes too!
Larry and Father Marcel, thanks for taking care of Matt. I think it would be a great experience to spend the night in a church.
Father Marcel looks a little like Rev. Alden from Little House on the Prairie.
Only thing better than Blueberry pancakes and some skinned sausage is country folk.
Take these two over 100 city slickers anyday.
Well you can’t really eat “country folk,” or can you Pacis? ;o)
Good one, young!
Thank you Larry & Father Marcel for taking care of Matt….the Hobo Nation thanks you from the bottom of their hearts!
And Matt…when did you add the bumper sticker bling to your cart? I don’t remember seeing that before. :)
