How I would love to build a nice cabin right there!!! Matt is a lucky man to see all this beautiful nature!!!! Keep the pictures coming, I am loving everyone of them!
so matt is relying on google maps walking, for directions? doesnt seem to me like GM would be ‘recommending’ this route. perhaps matt is taking ‘poetic walkers license’? otherwise he would have gone from ovando, mt, to missoula, mt, no? instead of taking more ‘treacherous’ roadways? your thoughts…….
I thought the same thing, Charlie, that Matt took poetic walking licence and traveled off of the recommended path. Can’t blame him after miles and miles of Highway 200. This route seems more of a “walkation” from the busy-ness of the paved highway of trucks and speeding traffic.
Yes it did. If you click on Matt’s detail of my trip at the top right of the home page and click on route and then click for close up on map, google maps did take him this direction. I wonder whether someone that does the google mapping actually walked this path. Some of it doesn’t seem safe enough but it is where google took him.
I believe you are referring to Two Medicine Lake (actually three lakes) and surrounding area, which is about 150 miles N. of where Matt is right now. It’s on the SE side of Glacier N.P., just North of East Glacier Village. Just rode by it two weeks ago and got some beautiful pics.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Nice. Mountain lake that we’ve been waiting for. Really like this. And guess what?? I’m First!
You the “wwoman”!
Nice shot…just want to go down hill and take a dip…
Looks like good fsihing. Did you take a SKINNY DIP while you were their?
Another great shot!!!
Now skip the wading and go for a swim – this lake is just too inviting!!
Woo Matt – You certainly look to be all by yourself – watch out for Sasquatch!
Only don’t call them Flatheads. You may get scalped. They are known as the Salish, or Kootenai depending where you are.
What a refreshing scene. Bet you jumped into the lake and swam the whole day ;-)

Drop a line in there, and catch something for dinner.
