  1. Dennis in MI says:

I love the Washington Traffic Safety Commission too. Just as a friend though.

  2. Gayle Opie says:

I like this idea — I wonder if more people will heed this one rather than the $200 fine type?

Matt, I’m glad to see new pictures from you. I worry when we don’t see you for days even though I check the little map on the right to make sure you’re still moving.

  3. deb says:

    *humming*

    Ridin’ along in my calaboose
Still tryin’ to get her belt unloose
All the way home I held a grudge,
But the safety belt, it wouldn’t budge

  4. I wish we had those in February 1963…

  5. katzien in austin says:

Much nicer than the “click it or ticket” campaign in Texas. So what happened in ’63 Jim?

  6. Candice In Alabama says:

Here’s where the LOVE comes into play: http://wimp.com/seatbelt/

    • deanna valenti meyer says:

      Whoa Candice!! That’s a crazy video…

I watched “Pretty in Pink” the other day and saw a scene where Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy had just gotten in a car and drove away…withOUT putting on their seat belts. It’s second nature now…and seemed strange that they didn’t put on the belts. Because of this, it strikes me as odd that there are still people out there who don’t put on their belts.

      • jeff says:

now where talking. Breakfast club, pretty in pink….bring on the rain…time to watch some video’s … Matt you just keep walking…we’ll keep the popcorn warm.

  7. Terry from NJ says:

I’ve seen states use threats, and some use humor, this is a nice change.

    • jeff from NJ says:

click it or tick it…in joisy …. put on your seat belt for help pay for the overpaid policemen that way.

  8. Barb C. says:

I agree with you Terry from NJ. Here in Illinois and when I went to Wisconsin it was “Click it or Ticket it”.
Matt we love you too==so buckle up!!!!!

  9. jeff says:

goes hand in hand with the secured loads on previous pages.

  10. Sarah in OR says:

Matt, I am so impressed that you have made it to WA, already. I have been following since Michigan and it has been such a great trip :).

    • Barb V from Michigan says:

Sarah, I wish Matt came to Michigan. Unfortunately, he traveled below our beautiful border, through Ohio & Indiana, and right on into Illinois. I’m sure this was one of those times Matt had to veer off the recommended Google walking route as that route would have had him walking right through Lake Michigan!

  11. Laura says:

Reminds me of the movie “Idiocracy.” The greeter at the Cosco says “Welcome to Cosco. We love you.” I missed a couple of weeks here – was “wowed” by the progress you’ve made!!

  12. Charlie in ATL says:

I’ll call the Washington Traffic Safety Commission to make sure the belt on your pants is fastened properly.

  13. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Well we love you too! Especially here in the hobo planet. Doesn’t that sign look like it’s smiling? Nice happy sign wishing you well and safe travels. Ahh….
