Looks like a great road to play “spaceship.” You know….you turn off the headlights but turn on the interior lights so the car glows from the inside like a spacehip. Good times. ;-)
I agree-lawsuit. And it is a downhill and for a truck you need that much warning in order to stop. Wouldn’t want to be the one who got hit by a truck that couldn’t stop in time. Or a Mattmobile not stopping in time! lol.
I live just a few miles from that sign.. And I just read on my Mom’s facebook that she got to meet you today! That’s awesome! And yes, I’ve seen many a car/truck/semi truck blow right past that stop sign and end up going through the guardrail. Good luck on your adventure, Matt! :)
Probably “some” highway “engineer” got out his slide rule (showing my age) and saw it wasn’t “perfect”, you know, “exact”…so they added “Approx”…”Matt, have you been this way before???”…
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
That’s pretty dang funny, keep on walking!
Haha, I didn’t even notice the warning on the street as well! I guess a lot of people have ended up in that field beyond the T.
Oh and whee, first! I guess it pays to eat lunch at your desk, sadly.
I wonder how much time went by before they added the “approx”
And the distance, it looks like they all got added separately
Did you count your steps Matt? Wonder what’s the current figure in your pedometer…
What a funny sign… get ready, set, stop in 1000 ft… really get those brakes ready!
Are we taking bets that Matt counted each step to see if the measurement was accurate?
ummm How about a droid App for that when you get back. Million dollar idea…I’ll sell it t you for a dollar??!!
What? No reflectors on the sign? Seems to me those would be mighty useful out there in the pitch black of night.

sounds fun, kat. never played that one.
Yeah I’ve never heard of that one either.
Probably haven’t heard of it ’cause most of the players didn’t survive.
Hey, I was a teenager at the time. No body every mistook a teenager for being smart, heehee.
Downshift, downshift!!!!!
That’s hilarious!
What were you doing on that side of the road?
Matt, were you able to STOP in time? Or did you roll right through that dead end?
Has to be the result of a lawsuit.
They must drive really fast to require that much warning.

Time to install a solar powered blinking caution light. Approximately 1000 feet? Like they needed to waste the manpower and materials on the Approx.!

haha.. that made me laugh.. I needed that.
