Wait…did you camp in a river? Did you attempt a water-bed…or water-(sleeping)bag as the case may be? Or did you figure out how to hover above water, under a bridge? You have perplexed me Green Machine!
Ah, sleeping under the bridge like a true hobo would. Good for you Matt, you make us proud.
Nice awesome shot here and the “wildlife” just makes it even awesomer. What a beautiful site to wake up to. And like Candice in Alabama asked, did you get some fresh milk? She needed some to go with Dr. Perky this morning. (assuming of course that you use milk/creamer).
The cattle are prowlin’,
The coyotes are howlin’
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin’
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call
I was about to say the same thing, but was thinking that it was just where he took the picture?! Stay up higher, it doesn’t even have to rain where you are, just upstream a few miles to a hundred miles!
TAKE CARE, MATT
Matt…
you do what you do…
we don’t know why..
I find you an interesting guy..
You never asked for our cheer and praise..
..but we gave them to you anyways.
From Coast to Coast, mountains and badlands..
we follow you the best we can.
Some are jealous, some are not…
..as you sleep in some vacant lot.
Early to bed early to rise.. a vhs of Rush
is too cool for a passerby .
The cows hey follow… as we do too
I think I’m happy living thru you.
Your closer to the end then when you started…
…balls of brass so far you’ve sported,
balls of steal from this day forward.
I wish you safe passage from mont…
Idaho and way beyond
To Rockaway beach I’ll cheer you on!
I miss your sometime interaction…
and I like others live vicoursely thru you….
Everystep of the way we live thru you.
Don’t think us funny , don’t think us mad
we live a live a life we don’t have thru you.
Matt we are we, we follow your trail…
say hello to us from time to time and wish us well.
You can be short you can be rushed…
but just let all us know your thankful of us.
peace on MATT, PEACE ON.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Did you get any fresh milk?
Perhaps not – Even with Flickr Zoom they are looking like bulls and not cows.
i saw a movie once in which the actors did milk the bull. lol
Nice!
Must be strange waking up to cattle crossing the creek. But at the same time awesome.

very awesome!
There must be nothing like falling to sleep to the sound of a stream with a bunch of mooing in the background!

I like. You’re very good. cute.
Prowl: • to move about in or as if in a predatory manner………….hmmm, must be some renegade cattle!
It appears that Matt did find a place for a good soak after those awful rumble strips.
The low of cattle as an alarm clock. Sweet.
How peaceful! Top o’ the mornin’ to ya!
Have you ever heard of ‘flash floods?’ You are camping too close to the creek city boy.
I was about to say the same thing, but was thinking that it was just where he took the picture?! Stay up higher, it doesn’t even have to rain where you are, just upstream a few miles to a hundred miles!
TAKE CARE, MATT
My thoughts too: You do camp too close to the creek where rain upstream and out of sight can be a problem. City boy indeed.
Ahhh…I miss the sounds of cattle outside my window each morning. Hope it felt as peaceful to you as it always did for me…
Your photos, comments, trip are GREAT! I hope a lot of people take note of what simplicity can do.
Matt, nice camping site – but I would agree….Flash flood could have taken you out. I know you check on weather and such…..keep safe.
Love the view .. bridge and clouds and cattle and all. Looks peaceful.
