I was planning on heading up the Mississippi River from La Crosse for a couple of days before crossing into Minnesota, but when Eileen from the La Crescent Chamber of Commerce offered me a shower and a chance to do laundry (both of which I desperately needed), I decided to make a run for the border early, and I'm really glad I did. She and her son Brian were wonderful hosts, preparing a big summer feast for me. Eileen hung around the house a little later than usual yesterday morning to make me breakfast and see me off.
See, this is just really cool that Brian and Eileen did this. I’m sure they were excited to offer what they did.
Just as all of us in SC would do Angie-wish Matt made his trip through the lower states.
i think that kindest and love is the best gift you can give a person and thats what they gave him. there should be more people like them in the world.
Eileen and Brian, thank you for your kindness to our boy.
Mrs. Green – I wanted to let you know how fun it was for Brian and I to have your son stay with us the other night. I am not sure how the La Crosse Area Convention and Visitors Bureau found out he was coming (Matt seemed to think you let them know he would be in town), but when I found out he was in the area I wanted to be sure he came to MN to see how beaustiful our bluffs are. The view from the Apple Blossom Scenic Drive is fantastic and indescribable. Your son was very polite and gracious shile visiting us. You can certainly be proud of him. I was impressed that he contacted you each evening using the GPS…how comforting to get that beacon of love every night. He is safe and looking forward to your visit next week. Safe journey to the Twin Cities. Eileen
