Day 108

I did not take this photo on US Route 200

July 12th, 2010

In fact, there is no US Route 200. I took this photo on Montana Highway 200, the longest state highway in the nation.

Ive been right where you are just about 9 months ago

  2. deanna valenti meyer says:

What’s funny is, when you hit Washington state (if you’re coming on this side of the Columbia), our state highways have signs with the numbers in George Washington heads! That way you know the difference between a state highway and a federal one. Took me a little bit to understand that, but I think it’s totally neat! :) All states should do something unique like that for their state highways….but that’s just my opinion. :)

  3. Gigi says:

Checked it out in wiki, it’s 701 mi long ..

  4. Karen Too says:

With that arrow, how do you know if you’re coming or going?

    Another one for the bookmarks.

  5. You can tell you’re getting up into the mountains now because of the change of scenery. Won’t be long now. I like the yellow/white whatever growing there in the green on the ground. Brings some color to it all. And again, the blue of that sky out there is almost blinding it’s so blue! Wow.

    • Christine says:

He’s not near the mts yet. He has this same topography for at least 20 more days.

      • Thanks. I know he’s not actually IN the mountains yet is why I added in “Won’t be long now” but he is much closer than he was. Just felt that because he’s coming upon some more trees etc. that he must be getting closer.

    • Candice in Alabama says:

I wonder what the yellow/white stuff is? I agree – I’m liking the more diverse colors.

  6. katzien in austin says:

I bet the pine trees smell incredible! You should be seeing come critters too.

  7. Diane in Ohio says:

Ohio’s state highways are designated with the number in an outline of Ohio. I always assumed growing up that that was how ALL state highways were designated – with the number in an outline of its state. A George Washington Head outline sounds pretty darn cool.

  8. Jeff says:

The sign looks low on the pole. Doesn’t it?

  9. Chaser1 says:

I was on this highway just today for work! LOL. Fairview end though.
