I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the
details of my trip

Here's my progress so far:
Preparing for Halloween already? The commercialism of holidays really is getting out of hand… oh, but I really like that blue metallic wig… wonder how much that is…?
(BTW – I’m the first comment – that has never happened! Whoo-hoo!)
Congrats Barb V from Michigan! I know just how you feel! :o)
Thanks. You were first just a few pics ago – it is a great feeling, isn’t it?
Young and Barb V from Michigan
It is “Oh what a feeling” to be first and I am happy for you both. It is great to meet new people while following Matt Hobo Green step by step across this great nation! I am happy to be a part of the HOBO NATION with you 2 and all of the others.
To celebrate your first – I say-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwN9YXNZHV8
Hope you both have a great day and that Matt stays safe and hydrated.
Don
One more time-sorry!

Tennessee Don, your video finds make me smile! You better believe the neighborhood will never be the same, or should I say the Hobo Nation will never be the same.
Actually, I’m not so “new” (age doesn’t count); I’ve been following & commenting here since about Memorial Day weekend. I just think my comment above was the first for a pic Matt posted. That’s the little thing that made my day, and turned me upside down with joy.
Happy to be a citizen of Hobo Nation with you and others.
Congratulations Barb V!
The costume shop is like that year round. We have one around here that I know of and it’s full of costume as well as gag gifts and the like. Never know when you might need one. : ) Matt I think that child clown there is looking at you. He’s reaching out to you with open arms.
Thanks, Dorinda! It really is a momentous occasion for me – one I’ll never forget. :)
Is he saying “sit and rest a spell”?
Barb V wins her choice of custome for being number one. Todays special….Hobo Lady outfits. Isle #2.
Congradulations Barb…
I’d love a hobo lady outfit. Does is come with a cart? And can I wear my blue metallic wig with it?
Quit clowning around Barb….we got budget cuts here…..the cart yes. Stock Clerk MATT we need a cart outside please.
LOL!
Pardon me, Jeff, but I posted that before you did (see below). Tsk, tsk. :-D
Ha ha! Great minds.
Barb V-that’s a great idea for a halloween costume! A “Matt cart and outfit” complete with boots and bear spray. Of course we can’t forget the plunger.
Clowns are creepy. This picture doesn’t help.
First it’s toys and animals….now mannequins. What’s next….mimes??

They’re just clowning around. (Come on; someone had to say it!) Hee hee.
Matt, I can just barely make our your “ghostly” image reflected in the window! (Flickr Zoom/Original).
Eerie…I loathe clowns!
Matt is no fool, but he does like to clown around some.
Makes me think of this great hit – http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2953
Here’s the YT song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPSuJfLGKGQ to go with your songfacts.
“Send in the Clowns…. there’s got to be Clowns….”
