The paragrapg under EUREKA-FORTINE explains the name.

  4. Don in Tennessee says:

    paragraph not paragrapg SHERLOCK!

  5. Don in Tennessee says:

tobacco also – what are you smoking SHERLOCK?

  6. Jim in AR via MN says:

Matt does this on purpose ya’know…he’s got a plethora of conundrums…mile after mile…

  7. Herefords are steer aren’t they? And the valley you’re in is a tobacco valley that Indians raised their tobacco crops. So, all things considered, they have cattle. I think.

    • Sharon in MT says:

Herefords are cattle, but Native Americans nor anyone else ever grew tobacco in this country, nor were Native Ameicans farmers at all.

  8. deanna valenti meyer says:

Herefords are indeed a type of cattle…your theory makes total sense Dorinda. :) That’s great considering right there.

  9. AZ Bob says:

No, no, no… :) All things considered, these particular Herefords are the BEST! That’s what it means! I’m guessing, but I’ll bet I’m right!

  10. Janine says:

So on this ranchers’ message board ( http://www.ranchers.net/forum/about43180.html ) someone says that “Hereford: All Things Considered” is a slogan on an old AHA poster advertising the breed.

According to current breeder webistes (such as http://www.ontarioherefords.ca ) Herefords are sturdy, fertile and relatively low-maintenance. “What this means is that all things considered Herefords produce more calf for your buck.”
