I'm walking every street in New York City.
This is the counterpoint to
my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city.

Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!
Where are all your followers?
Perhaps they only cared about seeing America as a whole…..
but you know New York City was the first Capital…it is as america as you can get. So this is a walk across america too.
So cloudy on the sunnyside of town today.
What’s famous about the sign? I tried doing a search and couldn’t find anything good enough to explain it to me. Anyone have some decent info on why it’s so famous?
Hope this helps Dorinda .. http://www.placematters.net/node/1533
Thanks once again Gigi. You’re such a good researcher.
What a huge sign for such a place. It looks like it belongs in Hollywood on a set or something. Had no idea it was just a “welcome sign” for a neighborhood. Can’t imagine something that huge on a street corner.
Art Deco…maybe when it is time to go down..they can send it to Miami.
followers are here y’all. just catching up. Great to see your point of view again, Matt! Thanks for sharing your city with us. I have been needing a reason to turn my computer on at work again…now I have it. :-)
