I have no idea what the name of the tree means! but its a cool sculpture. I love that you’re doing this throughout NYC. Living in Missouri, I would never get to experience NY this way, thanks! My only NYC experience was during high school, about 15 yrs ago when I was visiting Long Island for my cousin’s wedding. I toured a bit of the city with my mom and aunts. My aunts wouldn’t let me get out of the rental car, except to walk next to it in Central Park for a couple minutes. NOT the way to do NYC!!!
Hey! The whole gang’s here! Matt, you’ve had some interesting pics on here and it’s only been a week. You have a great eye and I love seeing the city thru your eyes.
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!

I did a little research and found out the artist is from your borough, Matt .. http://tyrometripoli.com/statement/bio-2.html
Thanks for the link Gigi. Really interesting art forms that he does.
Looks like a wild sprinkler setup. I half expect it will shoot water.
Way cool! I’m really enjoying your journey, Matt. Thanks for sharing your wonderful perspective!
When I very first saw this I thought “Tupperware tree”. Great way to recycle/reuse materials.

looks like a giant wind chime – reminds me of the moving metal sculptures in “Twister” (not the greatest movie, I know)
