Okay….so when he’s buried he must be taken through the Jewish gate only and then his plot will be gated too? Huh? I don’t get it. As Matt says, Ridiculous.
Oh, I miss you by several days Matt. I was here last Saturday walking along Broadway to check on Peter Woytuk’s sculptures. Took a detour on 155th St to the cemetery and came upon Audubon’s grave near the entrance. Didn’t see that Jewish Gate sign though.
I am totally lost on this one……a Jew would want to be buried at Trinity Church cemetary? They believe in the Trinity and go to church? ….and they need to use the Jewish Gate???? There HAS to be a story behind this one!!
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!

Click on the highlight of “just for Ed Koch” above in Matt’s comments. It tells the story of it all.
