One guy I talked to said it's been sitting out on the sidewalk for months; he figures someone wanted to get rid of it, but it's too big and heavy for the garbage collectors to pick up.
It at least looks better than any of the graffiti I’ve seen so far in your pictures. I guess I prefer function and design over erratic blasts of neon color.
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!
Roll it on over to the Scrap King.
or you could play a rather large game of Trivial Pursuit with it ;)

It actually works as a piece of street art. I like it. If I had a forklift and a huge truck I’d put it in my yard.
Me, too.
I wonder if it could be considered scrap metal at the place a few days ago which posts its metal prices outside their facility.
Looks like a gear to a giant Forging Press: https://www.google.com/search?q=forging+press&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=EkgYT8DZE6jv0gHNn8iYCw&ved=0CG0QsAQ&biw=1352&bih=620
it would be great in a playground, bet the kids would love it!
