Looks like something out of a horror movie. I see a full face features down into a body and the roots are the legs going down into the earth. The large “branches” off the top of his head make like a pirates hat to me. Something like that. This is pretty large for just a street tree. Must be all that good water there.
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!

I see the face, too, on the right. Looks like a man with bulging eyes, puffy cheeks, and wearing a beard. :-D
Definitely one tough tree.
Let’s hear it for the Ent that refuses to give in to modern civilization!
I would not like to see Mother Nature take this monster tree down, there is no telling what could be living underneath it.
If trees could talk ( as the old saying goes ) what tales this one could tell.
