how do you learn things like what the old, rusty arrow was all about?
In this case, “Bayonne Ferry” is still faintly legible on the arrow. I didn’t even notice it when I walked by, however. I found out about it by reading the Forgotten New York page linked above while researching something else. I made a note to check it out the next time I walk by, but then I found that I had inadvertently captured it in a photo.
