Day 88

I Love New York Now More Than Ever!

March 27th, 2012

is the name of this mural. It feels vaguely 9/11-related, but not enough to be included in the official memorial count. Take a look!

That’s a long mural, and impressive use of only 3 colors. The stars on this mural, which originates from Lady Liberty’s torch go all the way to the mural on the adjacent building, which I believe is a 9/11 tribute, “Remember the Heroes”.

Gigi’s right Matt. Following the stars from Lady Liberty all the way over to the Heroes part makes it a combined 9/11 memorial. At least to me I see it that way.

I agree that it’s all one mural, but you can’t assume it’s a 9/11 memorial without a specific reference to that event (even though it is reminiscent of two such memorials we’ve seen). Many of New York’s police officers and firefighters have died heroically, of course, on days other than September 11, 2001.
